FleetBroadband utilizes Inmarsat’s I-4 satellite constellation enabling a worldwide coverage.
Blue Ocean Wireless can expand the range of value-added services, beyond the basic FleetBroadband services which exist. These value-added services provide users with cost and traffic control, firewall management, data optimization, high security options, easy VPN access, messaging services and full IP range.
The Blue Ocean Wireless FleetBroadband system consists of a Remote Gateway (RGW) and a Below Deck Unit (BDU). This plug-and-play technology forms the connection between the onboard PC and the onboard satellite terminal, which transmits voice and data signals. The satellite terminal can be either an Inmarsat FB250/FB500 or a VSAT terminal.
A traditional circuit-switched phone can be connected directly to the BDU for Inmarsat or Modem for VSAT.
